David, deemed ‘The Mortgage Mensch’, owns and operates a successful mortgage business. The son of a survivor, like many whose lives were forever altered and influenced by the Holocaust, David's first impressions of Jewish life left him wanting more. Despite a Jewish upbringing, going to Hebrew Day School and being Bar Mitvzahed, for the most part, his existence was secular.
However maintaining his regular segment dubbed 'The Money Show" on “The Zelda Show " - a Jewish radio program aired daily on Toronto’s CHIN FM and cultivating his broadcasting skills while educating listeners about the benefits of mortgages in his uniquely casual and conversational style, as well as hand-picking his own guests, changed everything. Several appearances on CKDO’s “The Small Business Big Ideas Show” with host David Cohen and ThatChannels’ “Liquid Lunch” with host Hugh Reilly soon followed.
Fuelled by his on-air experience, passion for radio and Zionism, after travelling to Israel in 2009 and re-exploring his roots, David began attending Synagogue, lectures and classes more regularly. He envisioned MENSCHlife and took the necessary steps to bring it to fruition. What began in February 2009 as a lifestyle show about business and motivation with co-host Emmanuel Lopez quickly transformed into a global forum for Jews to openly discuss and dispel their Jewish identity and issues.
Frequently referred to as “The Jewish David Letterman” David prides himself on his ability to balance his sense of humour with his analytical mind. Drawing upon both, every Monday he delivers quality content that promises to kibitz, nosh (feed) and nurture your soul. So don’t forget to tune-in!
